Mythological Connections
-- Dionysis, also known as Bacchus, was the god of wine. He was known for his revels (from which the word 'Dionysian' is now used to describe wild carryings-on). Satyrs and nymphs are often associated with these revels, also called Bacchanals.
-- Ares, the God of War, was one of Hercules' many godly brethren and the only son of Zeus and Hera.
